According to a report from South Korea, Samsung is said to be planning to build chipsets specifically built for its Galaxy Smartphones. President and Head of Samsung Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, TM Roh reportedly announced it at a town hall meeting.
Additionally, it is said that the company has acknowledged internally that there’s an ‘insufficiency of AP capabilities’ in the company.
Reports claim that the relationship between the System LSI division that’s in charge of making chips and the MX division for mobile phones. It is said that the former just sees the latter as other customers that procure chips like vivo.
It already makes Exynos chips and has continued to try to make the chips be at par or stand out with its counterparts from Qualcomm and Apple. Among the changes the Korean company has done include switching to ARM’s chip design as well as collaborating with AMD for the Exynos 2200.
