A leak from TechnikNews has revealed official-looking renders of the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones. In addition, it revealed some specs of the new headphones.
The Sony WH-1000XM5, based on the renders, has updated its aesthetics compared to its predecessors. It has a cleaner design with bigger earpads and a thinner headband. Moreover, the headband looks to have more padding.
The hinge holding the earpads also looks to have been revamped. We assume that the changes were made to have a more comfortable fit.
The renders also reveal a slider-type power button and a noise cancellation/ambient button replacing the custom button.
The Sony WH-1000XM5, as far as specs go, is expected to offer up to 40 hours of playback with ANC on. This is 10 hours more than the XM4. Additionally, it will take 3.5 hours to fully charge.
Sony has yet to announce the new headphones yet though and the leak didn’t mention any release date either.
