According to Leica, one of the advantages of using Titanium rather than Brass lies in the former being twice as hard and 45% lighter than the latter. This material was first used by the company in the Leica M6 TTL “Titanium” back in 2001, M9 Titan in 2010, and also on the Leica MP (Typ 240) Titan in 2016.

Moreover, unlike the Leica MP, the MA model does not have a battery. The shutter is purely mechanical in nature making all shutter speeds up to 1/1,000 of a second viable without electricity.
