Xiaomi has felt the hurdles of Chinese smartphone manufacturers this past year. The company is now looking for ways to improve its production and supply output.
As an alternative solution, the company is now starting to produce some of its units in Vietnam and has already started delivering its first batch from its facility in the country.
The new facility located on the north side of Vietnam represents USD 80 million in investments covering 200,000 square meters of land. The production responsibilities were given to a Hong Kong company named DBG Technology.
Xiaomi aims to use this new facility as a hub for exports into neighboring Southeast Asian countries including Malaysia and Thailand.
