I’m sure you’ve already seen the news, and today. Things just got a bit more… official. HONOR is definitely set for a triumphant return to the Philippine market, as it signed a deal with Iridium Technologies in an exclusive event earlier today.

While no actual products were shown during the event, what’s certain is that we could actually see some devices in stores as early as Q4.

As you know, HONOR was formerly known as HUAWEI’s sub-brand, typically offering products that almost had the same specs at a lower cost. One of its most popular releases locally was the HONOR Play, which offered flagship specs for the price of a mid-range smartphone.

The brand parted ways with HUAWEI last 2020, and has established its own partnerships with brands such as Qualcomm, Intel, AMD, and MediaTek. In addition, the move also spared it from the effects of restrictions that were placed on the former, such as not being able to use Google Mobile Services on its devices.

For its return to the Philippines, the brand will be focusing on Tablets, Smartphones, Wearables, and even Laptops. This puts it in direct competition with current players. At the end of the day, more competition can push brands to innovate more, which is a win for consumers.

“As HONOR returns to the Philippines, we are confident that the brand will be well received by Filipino consumers. The brand’s re-entrance would also mean that HONOR products will soon become more accessible to Filipinos. Philippines is key market in Asia that we are committed to serving. We are positive to continue to gain consumer’s trust and popularity by providing the best products.”
