Sony has just confirmed on Twitter that the PlayStation VR2 will be introduced in Early 2022.
The company previously showcased the PlayStation VR2 at CES 2022. This revealed the design as well as some of its features like the 2000×2040 resolution per eye and a 110-degree FoV.
It will also use four cameras that calculate the position of the headset and the controllers as well as infrared cameras to track the eyes. The cameras enable foveated rendering that only fully renders areas that you can see.
The PlayStation VR2 headset will have more than 20 VR games on launch including Horizon VR: Call of the Mountain and No Man’s Sky. It will also have new live streaming features that allow you to film yourself in a live stream.
We’ll have to wait for more details from Sony though as it has yet to reveal the exact date of its release and other details.
