The Apple iPadOS 16 launch has been confirmed to be delayed which may be caused by the new Stage Manager multitasking feature that will be featured on iPads with Apple M chips only.
Apple has released a statement yesterday saying “This is an especially big year for iPadOS. As its own platform with features specifically designed for iPad, we have the flexibility to deliver iPadOS on its own schedule. This Fall, iPadOS will ship after iOS, as version 16.1 in a free software update.”
So in the meantime developers can tinker with the iPadOS 16.1 beta making this the first time a version with a .1 will launch instead of the full version of the OS. Following this, iOS 16.1 may follow suit and will release at the same time as the aforementioned software.
