YouTube is gearing up to roll out channel handles as a way to give users and channel creators an easier way to connect. These are somewhat similar to Instagram handles that are uniquely assigned to each profile.
YouTube unique handles
These unique handles make it easier for the community to tag someone in the comments, and videos and it will also appear on YouTube shorts thus making it easier for someone to get recognized.
Content creators will have the chance to pick a “@handle” when they receive the email regarding the start of the rollout of this feature.
However, after November 14, users/creators who still do not have their own handle will be automatically given one that will be auto-generated based on their channel name but can still be changed after that.
The video streaming platform now allows all channels to pick a URL and removes the 100-subscriber requirement to be able to access this feature.
