Amidst the current issue, the company is still set to begin mass production of its electric vehicle (that was supposed to be unveiled last august) by 2024 which was reiterated by CEO Lei Jun stating that progress is still being made.

However, according to the reports of some employees, the progress is indeed happening albeit at a much slower pace. This slowing down is the result of alleged problems in internal processes and communications.

Another issue, according to the reports from the people involved, is the missing interactive architecture of the EV that is the foundation of the vehicle’s development and without it, progress cannot be made.

In addition, results from the recent autonomous driving test surfaced but were allegedly edited with some parts cut out entirely.

Reports also say that the development team behind the autonomous driving system is not confident with the first Xiaomi EV.

As of now, we can only wait for future updates regarding Xiaomi EV’s development progress in the months to come.
