A report from 9to5Google claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be powered by a customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a higher clock speed.

According to the publication, there are documents that reveal that the Galaxy S23 series will have a “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy” with speeds of up to 3.36GHz from 3.2GHz on the Prime core. The lower clock speed is what most phones use including the iQOO 11 and Red Magic 8 Pro.
Aside from the higher-clocked Prime core, the rest of the chipset is said to be the same. This includes the four Performance cores running at up to 2.8GHz and three Effeciency cores clocked at up to 2GHz.
In November last year, three Samsung devices which were believed to be the Galaxy S23 series were spotted on Geekbench with higher-clocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which corroborates the report from 9to5Google.
Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S23 series on February 1 (February 2, 1 AM, Philippine Time) at the Galaxy Unpacked event but as of writing this has kept much of its specs under wraps. However, there have been a plethora of leaks including what is reported to be the full specs of the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra.
