Meta just launched Threads, an app built by the Instagram team that focuses on creating connections and engaging in fun and interesting public discussions via text, or “Threads.”
Just like on Instagram, you’ll be able follow and be followed by friends. Setting things up is pretty easy too, just use your Instagram account to login. You’ll be asked to choose between a Public and Private profile, who to follow, and that’s it.
Posts on Threads are limited to a maximum of 500 characters, but you can include links, photos, and videos of up to 5 minutes in length. You’ll be able to share your Threads post to your Instagram Stories and share the link to your post on various platforms.
To help keep things as positive, productive (and peaceful?) you can choose who can mention you or reply to your posts. You can block, restrict, and report profiles, and any Instagram accounts you’ve blocked will automatically be blocked on Threads as well.
Coincidentally, the launch coincides with the announcement of limits to Twitter, when it comes the number of tweets that users can view per day.
Where to Download Threads?
Threads by Instagram is available for download via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Have you tried it? what do you think of it? let us know in the comments section!
