Nothing has officially unveiled their second-generation smartphone – the Nothing Phone (2). The launch was held via a livestream but its local availability and pricing details were revealed by Digital Walker.
The Phone (2) builds on the success of the Phone (1) while offering a more premium experience.
Nothing Phone (2)
The Phone (2) is built around a larger 6.7-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED panel. This will now offer an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to up to 120Hz refresh rate.
As far as optics go, it retains the 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide but the company has upgraded the main sensor to a 50MP Sony IMX890 camera from the Sony IMX766 of the predecessor. The latter supports up to 4K video recording at 60fps as well as features Action Mode.
The front camera has also been upgraded to a 32MP Sony IMX615 lens and supports video recording of up to 1080p at 60fps.
The Nothing Phone (2) is equipped with an advanced 18-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) to allow it to process camera data up to 4,000 times more than its predecessor. Additionally, it has a built-in EIS and OIS around the back.
Under the hood, it comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset coupled with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. It also has a larger 4700mAh battery with support for faster 45W fast charging. It does retain the 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse charging though.
The company also announced 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security patches every 2 months for its latest device.
