Xiaomi recently launched the Mix Fold 3 in China which is the third-generation of the company’s ‘traditional’ foldable device. Now, it looks like the company is preparing a clamshell device dubbed the Xiaomi Mix Flip as it was spotted on the IMEI database.
Xiaomi Mix Flip
The IMEI database reveals the Mix Flip with the model number 2311BPN23C and was listed along with devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, OPPO Find N2 Flip, vivo Y16, and OnePlus 11 2023.
There are rumors that the Mix Flip will be introduced with the Mix Fold 4. There are also other speculations based on the model number, specifically the 23 at the end, that the clamshell device will debut later this year.
In addition to the rumors, renders of what is allegedly the device’s design also surfaced. This reveals a pretty ‘standard’ clamshell design except for a triple rear camera setup that is lined up horizontally in a camera module that occupies the top of the rear of the device when unfolded.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset which will be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit next month.
We hope we get to see the Mix Flip make it to the global market but if Xiaomi will approach the clamshell device similar to the Mix Fold series, the Flip may just be a China-exclusive device.
