Google has just introduced the latest additions to its Pixel family namely the Pixel 8 series and the Google Pixel Watch 2.

The Google Pixel Watch 2 has a 1.2-inch circular AMOLED display with up to 1000 nits of brightness. This is protected by a custom 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, it is equipped with a Qualcomm 5100 processor and 2GB of SDRAM.
It carries over fall detection and Emergency SOS but the second-generation Watch 2 also has proactive safety features like Medical ID, Emergency Sharing, and Safety Check.
The new Pixel Watch also brings optical heart rate and SpO2 sensors. The former though has an all-new heart rate sensor with 25x more than the predecessor for a more accurate heart rate reading.
It is also said to be 40% more accurate for vigorous activities like HIIT, spinning, and rowing. Moreover, it has new Heart Rate Zone Coaching and Pace Training features that can help you stay on track with workout goals. The smartwatch also offers Sleep Profile, Sleep Score, Active Zone Minutes, and 40 workout modes.
The Google Pixel Watch 2 can also track stress levels with the Continuous Electrodermal Activity sensor.
The 306mAh battery is said to offer 24 hours of battery even with always-on-display. It is also rated 5ATM and IP68 rated.
The watch offers six new watch face families and a variety of bright and breathable bands in addition to the included Active Band.
Pricing and Availability
The Google Pixel Watch 2 is priced at USD 349 (around PHP 19,800) for the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and USD 499 (around PHP 28,300) for the 4G LTE variant. It comes in four combinations:
- Polished Silver Aluminum Case + Bay Active Band
- Matte Black Aluminum Case + Obsidian Active Band
- Champagne Gold Aluminum Case + Hazel Active Band
- Polished Silver Aluminum Case + Porcelain Active Band
The Pixel Watch will be available starting October 12 via the Google Store, Fitbit.com, and select retailers worldwide.
