The hackers took over the homepage of the House with the classic troll meme face with the text “You’ve been hacked, You’ve been hacked. Have a nice day.” Additionally, the hackers also left a message, “Happy April Fullz kahit October palang! Fix your website hacked by ~3Musketeerz.”

Additionally, the hackers altered the press releases and committee schedules on the website.

“We are in constant communication and coordination with them [House] and currently investigating the extent of the said incident. We shall provide further updates to the public as soon as they are made available,” said DICT spokesman Assistant Secretary Renato Paraiso

Meanwhile, House Secretary General Reginald advised the public to be cautious of emails or communications that claim to be from the House of Representatives.

“For the moment, we advise the public to be cautious of any suspicious emails or communications that claim to be from the House of Representatives,” he said in a statement.

He assured that the House is “committed to ensure the security and integrity of our digital platforms, and we will implement additional measures to prevent such incidents in the future.”

The House isn’t the only government agency that was hit by cyber-attacks. Recently, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) was a victim of a data breach and the Philippine Health Insurance Corp (PhilHealth) was also hit with a ransomware attack.
