Smart to Utilize Google Cloud AI to Help Personalize Digital Services for Filipinos

Smart Communications, Inc. has joined forces with Google Cloud to enhance digital services for Filipinos, with technical implementation support from Searce. In this partnership, Smart becomes one of the first communication service providers in the Asia Pacific to use Google Cloud’s Telecom Subscriber Insights. It’s like an AI tool that looks at data from different sources, figures out how much people like using services, and gives them personalized recommendations on their devices.

While the digital economy in the Philippines is expected to grow by 20% every year until 2025. Mobile connectivity is crucial for Filipinos to get things like food, transportation, and daily items. Smart will use Telecom Subscriber Insights to analyze how Filipinos use digital services and where they might have problems. This will help them make services that help Filipinos understand, manage, and use their mobile data better.

Smart also plans to use Telecom Subscriber Insights to make mobile services that work for everyone. They’ll look at patterns and problems with connections in real-time. For example, they can help people use less data when watching videos, or they can suggest topping up their prepaid plan right on their device, so they don’t have to go to a store.

Smart wants to make it easier for people to talk to agents and chatbots, too. They’ll use Google Cloud’s AI, which can summarize text and keep a conversation going. They’ll fine-tune these models and add them to their services. That way, people can talk to virtual agents that give them helpful advice on how to use their data better.
