MediaTek has announced that it will be holding an event on November 6 to launch its next-generation Dimensity flagship chipset. This is expected to be the MediaTek Dimensity 9300.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300
The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 wasn’t actually mentioned in the announcement, as it is with most launch event announcements but there have been various leaks and rumors about the new Dimensity chipset.
The new chipset is said to have four Cortex-X4 cores in a 1+3 configuration compared to the single Cortex-X4 prime core in other chipsets including the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The 1+3 configuration for the Cortex-X4 cores has a ‘prime’ core clocked at 3.25GHz, while the other three run at 2.85GHz.
The chipset will also have four Cortex-A720 cores that clock at up to 3GHz and an Arm Immortalis G720 GPU.
The Dimensity 9300 was spotted breaking the 2,000,000 score on AnTuTu. And given its core setup, it’s expected. However, we wonder about thermals as having one Cortex-X4 is sometimes a cause for overheating, but the new chipset has four.
We’ll learn more about it on November 6 at 7 PM, Philippine Time.
