TECNO Mobile showcased three innovative technologies at its Future Lens event in Shanghai, including a unique W-shaped adjustable aperture designed to eliminate glare in harsh lighting conditions.
The company may be gearing up to feature its liquid lens and W-shaped aperture in its Phantom X camera phone series, expected to debut at Mobile World Congress next year.
TECNO Future Lens Showcase
TECNO showcased the industry’s first liquid telephoto macro lens, utilizing voltage to adjust lens curvature, achieving 5cm macro focusing, and allowing for large sensor use in a periscope module, a first in the industry.
Moreover, phones often use ultrawide cameras for macro photography, but this can cause distortion. To achieve true macro photography you may use a longer focal length with a periscope zoom.
As part of the showcase, the manufacturer also introduced its Universal Tone technology, which uses three AI-powered engines to enhance skin tones in photos. These include the Multi-Skin Tone Restoration Engine, the Local-Tuning Engine, and the Computational Portrait Engine.
