LTO Preparing 4 Million Driver’s License Cards to Address Backlog

The Land and Transportation Office (LTO) plans to distribute 4 million plastic driver’s license cards nationwide in 2024, aiming to eliminate the current backlog.

Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza says that by Monday new applicants will immediately receive plastic.

The office bolstered its bidding and government-to-government license printing to help alleviate the backlogs.

Moreover, the government body advises motorists to prepare their license plates, receipts, and registration certificates three days before purchasing a new car and plans to issue a show cause order against slow processing.
