A week has passed since the RTX 4070 SUPER review embargo lifted and now we finally have the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER embargo. Like its older brother, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER doesn’t have a Founders Edition card so we’ll be using the Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Twin X2 GPU as our reference card in this review as it follows the Php 55,420 MSRP. Its price is lower compared to the RTX 4070 Ti’s Php 63,200 launch especially when you factor in the spec increase particularly the memory upgrade to 16GB. So, does this make it the SUPER card to get? Let’s find out in this review

As mentioned earlier, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER doesn’t have a Founders Edition variant like the previously launched RTX 4070 Ti. Like the RTX 4070 SUPER, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER has a spec bump compared to its non-super counterpart albeit in a measly 10-percent increase compared to the 70 SUPER’s 20-percent uplift. That said, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is the only RTX 40 SUPER card to come with an increased memory of 16GB GDDR6X coming from the non-super’s 12GB GDDR6X config. The core count increase and the larger memory seem to not impact power consumption as we still have the same 285W TGP and 700W PSU requirement.

Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Twin X2 – Unboxing and Overview

The Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti SUPER follows the theme of its younger RTX 4070 SUPER brother which is basically the same warm-color tone mecha-hound packaging.

As we step over to the RTX 4070 Ti cards and above, GPU coolers tend to be bigger so to see a-slot GPU such as the Inno3D Twin X2 on an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is quite rare and of course, brings us concern to the cooling performance.

Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Twin X2 Temperatures and Power Draw

Considering the performance, power, and size of the Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti Twin X2 the peak recorded temperature of only 70.90°C is quite impressive. While it isn’t the coolest in our test suite it certainly is on the cooler side, especially when you take into account its size.

The Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Twin X2 managed to peak at 285W compared to our RTX 4070 Ti’s 281W peak consumption. Perhaps there’s enough TGP headroom from the 4070Ti to accommodate the SUPER’s increased core count and VRAM.

Performance Summary Conclusion

Since this is also our first graphics card review of the RTX 4070 Ti Super, we’ll have two conclusions. One for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER itself and one for the Inno3D Twin X2 model.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER

The RTX 4070 Ti had a controversial history as it was originally supposed to be an RTX 4080 12GB variant at an arguably outrageous price of Php 63,200 when it launched. It fell short of the enthusiasts’ expectations, especially in the memory department. There’s also the value alternative from AMD particularly the RX 7900 XT which made things worse for the RTX 4070 Ti back then.

That said, Nvidia has managed to address all of these with the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Lacking performance? Nvidia gave a 10% core count increase and 4GB more VRAM. Making it a guaranteed 1440p gaming guard as well as a good entry point to 4K gaming. Php 63,200 is expensive by this year’s standards and there’s the cheaper more power-hungry alternative from AMD? Nvidia surprisingly lowers the launch price to Php 55,420 despite having more cores and memory.

Unfortunately, while the RTX 4070 SUPER is closer to the RTX 4070 Ti than the RTX 4070, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is closer to the RTX 4070 Ti than the RTX 4080. However, unlike the RTX 4070 SUPER, you’re getting a much lower price tag which also effectively undercuts AMD’s RX 7900 XT and XTX. That said, the 10% core count increase and larger VRAM had little impact over the RTX 4070 Ti as you’d only see tangible improvements at higher resolutions, especially in 4K resolution. Productivity, however, tells a different story as it scales very well with the percentage increase in performance as seen in our benchmarks.

With all of these changes over the vanilla RTX 4070 Ti and factoring in the release of the RTX 4070 SUPER, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER captures a particularly niche market. Most gamers would be fine with the RTX 4070 SUPER, especially at 1080p and 1440P. Those wanting more for that “future-proofing”, extra frame rate, VR Gaming, or need the extra RAM for game mods or productivity will get it from the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. At Php 55,420 you’re getting a well-rounded GPU thanks to the optimal blend of performance, price, and power efficiency making it an ideal GPU option for gaming and/or productivity.

Reiterating what we said in our RTX 4070 SUPER Twin X2 Review, the Twin X2 design is a very consistent cooler with a very minimal compromise despite being a reference or MSRP card. What makes it better in this scenario is that you’re pairing it with a much more powerful RTX 4070 Ti SUPER AD103 chip and it still provides superb cooling and framerates compared to the rest of our RTX 4070 Ti SUPER cards that have way larger heatsinks and some having more fans – making the Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Twin X2 an attractive option for ITX builders.

Frankly, the only things to “complain” about the card are very much subjective concerning the card’s aesthetics whether you like the gray-black industrial design and value RGB lighting. That said, we’re looking forward to improvements in this department on the next GPU generation. So, if RGB isn’t a deciding factor for your graphics card upgrade and you want to keep the cost low with little to no compromises on performance and cooling, then the Inno3D RTX 4070 Ti SUPER TWIN X2 should be on the top of your list thanks to its competitive price, decent performance, size and build quality.
