The new G4 will be launched today, May 28, here in the Philippines. Filipinos can already pre-order the device from May 15 to 31. Those who pre-ordered and will pre-order the device will receive pre-order kit, which comes with freebies valued at PhP3,500. These freebies include 32gb MicroSD and a battery charging kit.

And what can we say – the LG G4 is majestic! Its design isn’t exactly a complete deviation from last year’s iteration, but the new G4 is absolutely stunning. Its leather-clad rear cover feels and looks great! We also knew that there other other versions of the rear cover: ceramic white with 3D patters, artisan-forged Metallic Gray and lustrous Shiny Gold. I don’t know about you guys, but we’re digging the leather-clad one as it felt better during our tests.

At first glance, we thought that the LG G4’s screen is slight curved. We eventually realized that it’s just an illusion that was easily created by its slim arc design.

In terms of hard-ware specs, the LG G4 is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, which promises uncompromising speed and energy efficiency. Too bad we didn’t get the chance to stress-test the phone’s battery to further validate such claim. But speed-wise, the G4 is undoubtedly fast! Switching from one app to another was a breeze during our test, and we didn’t event experience any lags or performance hiccups.

Storage and memory wise, the new G4 has 32gb internal memory and 3gb of RAM. The former is relatively enough to store thousands of photos and hundreds of high resolution videos.

Camera is one of LG G4’s crowing glories. Focusing is much easier and cooler on the G4 as it has a laser-focus module located just beside its camera. Its f/1.8 aperture lens can brew a great looking and super melted bokeh, which will definitely delight mobile photographers!

Speaking of photos, below are sample photos we took using the LG G4. These aren’t many but at least these photos would give you an idea how great the LG G4 is when it comes to snapping photos.

Battery-wise, LG G4’s battery is 3,000mAh and user-replaceable. Those who prefer to buy extra batteries, and those who don’t have any plans of changing their primary phone for more than 2 years, would definitely benefit this hardware implementation by LG on the G4.

There’s absolutely much to say about this phone. We covered most of our thoughts about the device in our first impressions video. Click this link if you can’t view video the above.
