HONOR CEO George Zhao revealed that it will introduce a clamshell foldable this year during an interview with CNBC during the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024). The HONOR chief also revealed that the company is already working on a ring wearable.
HONOR Clamshell Foldable and Ring
Up until this point, the company has only introduced the more ‘traditional’ foldable with the latest being the Magic V2, which was introduced locally in late last month.
It seems like the company is almost ready to join the clamshell market as Zhao mentioned to CNBC, “This year we are preparing for the flip phone launch — now that we are internally in the final stage.”
He also revealed to CNBC that the company is working on a ring wearable dubbed the HONOR Ring. This is a part of the brand’s broader focus on health. Zhao didn’t disclose much about the new wearable but he mentioned that he sees AI as a way to help provide more health insights to users.
