I travel a lot. On average, inclusive of Manila traffic, I’m on the road every day for 4 hours. Now that we’re in the Christmas Season (yes, it starts quite earlier in the Philippines), it is expected that traffic will get heavier and denser. It’ll even get worse as days get closer to Christmas.
My usual travel buddy are my mobile devices. I use my iPhone 6 Plus or my Zenfone 2 as my main navigation devices during every trip; and sometimes, if my devices get discharged, it’ll be hard for me to navigate my way through the hustle and bustle of traffic and to look for shortcuts and faster routes. This is the reason why it is quite imperative for me to have a means to keep my phones charged on the road, and keep my productive up and about despite being stuck in traffic.
A couple of weeks ago, I got introduced to a handy dandy 4-port charger from Belkin, Road Rockstar. For starters, the kit includes dual front USB ports, and dual rear USB ports with backseat clip. The 2 modules are connected by a 6 ft. cable that allows you to clip the rear ports to the back of your vehicle.
Let’s get into the detail.
Both modules’ construction is very well made. Both look and feel durable too – characteristics that Belkin is really known for. The cable that connects the 2 modules is equally durable. It extends to 6-feet, which makes it easier to clip the rear ports at the back of the passenger or driver seat.
The front USB ports give a total shared output of 2.4amps. If you jack in two devices, each charge the device with an output of 1.2amps. Doing so isn’t ideal to quickly charge devices or to keep the devices charged especially when running multiple applications that consume a lot of battery.

The 2 rear chargers give off 2.4amps each, making each port suitable for charging tablets and devices with bigger capacities. Not that we’re consenting parents to make tablets as care and yaya replacements, but having a charging port at the back can totally keep kids and adults alike entertained the whole trip.
Yay or Nay?
I couldn’t think of other car chargers that can simultaneously charge mobile phones and tablets than Belkin Road Rockstar. Its combined output of 7.2amps and topnotch build makes it the most superior car charger available at Lazada for only PhP2,490. Price may be seemingly a bit steep, but the value you’ll get is outstanding.
