JBL today officially launched more than half a dozen audio products aimed at the Philippine market. In a media gathering held at EDSA Shangrila Hotel, Mandaluyong City, attendees were made privy to the local launch of the following three Bluetooth speakers (among other devices). They are the JBL Xtreme, JBL Pulse 2, and JBL Flip 3.
All three speakers are equipped with the latest in Bluetooth wireless technology, splashproof designs, and long battery life. And they can also be used as dedicated speakerphones with any connected smartphone or any phone-enabled tablet, so they are more than just audio accessories.
JBL Xtreme
The JBL Xtreme is the first among the many audio products launched from JBL today. It is, by far, the biggest Bluetooth-enabled speaker that JBL has created, and it’s tagged as capable of delivering “big concert sound,” so you know it’s for some serious jamming sessions.
Some features of the JBL Xtreme include dual passive radiators to bring out the powerful bass in most types of music, 15 hours of battery life, the ability to charge up to two separate devices via USB, support for up to three separated connected devices that can be used to control music playback, and JBL Connect compatibility.
In case you’re unaware, JBL Connect is a system for wirelessly daisy-chaining two or more Bluetooth speakers so that they can play the exact same sounds at the same time. That means the sounds coming through the connected speakers will be amplified or, in layman’s terms, made much, much louder.
The JBL Xtreme is available in black, red, and blue colors for a price of Php 15,995.
JBL Pulse 2
Today also saw the launch of the JBL Pulse 2, which gets its name from the pulsating LED lightshow that’s built right into it on top of all the wireless audio features that are expected out of any similar Bluetooth accessory. The Pulse 2 is described in the official press release as “a wireless, splash proof speaker that transforms any space into a party through a captivating light display.” All you need to do is take one look at the Pulse 2 and you won’t argue with that.
The Pulse 2 is a lot like the JBL Xtreme in that it offers plenty of battery life (10 hours of playback), support for JBL Connect, it has a dedicated speakerphone feature, and it can pair with up to three separate smart devices (phones or tablets) at the same time. It’s LED lightshow component automatically changes its colors on its own, and if you want, you can also use the built-in JBL Prism color sensor lens and change the color to anything you want.
The JBL Pulse 2 isn’t available yet, but it will be in October for Php 9,995 each.
JBL Flip 3
Lastly, there’s the JBL Flip 3, which is basically a JBL Pulse 2 minus the LED lightshow experience. The Flip 2 certainly doesn’t lack style, however, since it comes in a total of 8 different colors, which are: gray, red, black, blue, pink, teal, yellow, and orange.
It also lasts up to 10 hours of continuous playback via Bluetooth, has a splashproof design, can be used with up to three different paired devices, and supports JBL Connect. And of course, a dedicated speakerphone feature is present in it as well.
The JBL Flip 3 can be bought from JBL-Harman Kardon concept stores for Php 6,495.
