Samsung has been established to use Snapdragon or Exynos chipsets for its Galaxy S-series like the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy S24 series. However, one rumor suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will be powered by the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset instead.

The rumor comes after it was spotted on a Google blog on AlphaChip stating, “For example, MediaTek, one of the top chip design companies in the world, extended AlphaChip to accelerate the development of their advanced chips – like the Dimensity Flagship 5G used in the Samsung mobile phones – while improving power, performance, and chip area.”

The timing of the mention seems to hint at the upcoming Galaxy S25 series which is expected to launch early next year. It did not fully reveal which device exactly but it is now speculated that it could be the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ globally.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is still expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite (previously the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4). Possibly, an overclocked “For Galaxy” variant.

Keep in mind though that Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything, as we are many months away from an official launch.
