OPPO’s Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu or Pete Lau as well as OPPO Find series Product Manager Zhou Yibao posted on their Weibo accounts confirming that at least the OPPO Find X8 Pro will have a dedicated Camera shutter button and more.
OPPO Find X8 Pro – Camera Button
Lau mentioned that the core imaging philosophy and commitment at OPPO is to effortlessly capture the beauty of life.
He revealed that the company has eliminated the unnecessary camera icon button on the lock screen of the Find X8 series. Instead, you’ll just need to press the dedicated physical shutter button. Moreover, the company has said to make the photography-focused Find X8 series thin and light for the first time for the first time of the Find X series.
The button is found on the right edge of the device, similar to the Camera Control button introduced in the iPhone 16 series as shown in the photo shared by Zhou Yibao.
OPPO’s version of the button though is a capacitive button that incorporates a linear vibration motor compared to the pressable button on the iPhone 16.
Yibao stated that three key principles helped guide the design of the shutter button. These are:
- Usability – button needed to be easy to press in both portrait and landscape modes
- Simplicity – the function is to quickly launch the camera without any complex features
- Aesthetics – the button needed to integrate seamlessly with the phone’s design
The OPPO Find X8 series is set to launch on October 24 in China and is expected to be comprised of the OPPO Find X8 Pro, the vanilla Find X8, and the top-specced Find X8 Ultra.
