Amazon introduces a new lineup of Kindle devices, including the first-ever color Kindle, a reimagined Scribe, the fastest Paperwhite, and a new Matcha color Kindle.
New Kindle Devices
Colorsoft Signature Edition
The Colorsoft offers high contrast, fast page turns, an auto-adjusting front light, and weeks of battery life. It allows users to browse covers in color, view book photos and images in color, and add color highlights for easy searching. The device uses an oxide backplane with custom waveforms for fast performance and higher contrast on both color and black-and-white content.
Its custom display features a new light guide with nitride LEDs that enhance color and brightness without pixelation. The Kindle Colorsoft comes with wireless charging, up to eight weeks of battery life, and is waterproof for outdoor use.
Scribe
The Scribe is a new notetaking device that combines the benefits of a Kindle with a powerful display. It features a smooth, paper-like texture, 300 ppi text resolution, and a Premium Pen for a comfortable grip. The Scribe also offers a unique in-book writing experience with Active Canvas, allowing users to write directly in the book when inspiration strikes. The note becomes part of the page, and the text dynamically flows around it.
Additionally, the built-in AI-powered notebook allows users to quickly summarize pages into concise bullets in a script font, which can be shared directly from the notebook tab. The Scribe also allows users to refine their notes into a script font, maintaining the look and feel of handwriting.
Paperwhite
The Paperwhite, Amazon’s best-selling Kindle since 2012, is now the company’s fastest yet, boasting 25% faster page turns and the highest contrast ratio of any Kindle. Its 7-inch display and thin design provide up to three months of battery life.
The new Paperwhite, available in Raspberry, Jade, and Black, is also waterproof and comes with 16GB storage, while the Signature Edition offers 32GB storage, wireless charging, and an auto-adjusting front light.
Kindle, Now in Matcha
The new entry-level Kindle, weighing 158g, is compact and features a 300 ppi, glare-free display, faster page turns, higher contrast ratio, and a 25% brighter front light. It comes in a fresh Matcha color, offers weeks of battery life, and has 16 GB of storage for thousands of books, making it ideal for reading anytime.
