Intel and Cherry Mobile have been in talks since mid of this year. Finally, their latest baby – or should we say ‘babies’ – will finally be launched on September 29. You will probably remember that teasers of this teasers were prematurely put up at some SM Malls last June 2015.
Cherry Mobile didn’t provide much details about the event. They only informed us that they will be launching Intel-powered smartphones and tablets during the event. (This confirms that the MAIA series isn’t limited to smartphones.) It is also very likely that the new devices have specs that can directly compete with ASUS’ Zenpad and Zenfone Series but at a more affordable standpoint.
More questions still loom in our minds though – Are the devices running on Android or Windows 10? Will there be a dual-boot functionality? Are the tablets running on Windows 10? How much are the devices?
I’m pretty sure that you’ve got questions too! Whatever is going to happen on the 29th, rest assured that we’ve got you covered. There shouldn’t be an issue If you recently purchased a Flare X or Android One G1 (review will be posted this weekend). In fact, if you’re planning on getting an Android One G1, we still recommend that you get that since Android One devices provide a pure Google experience with period provision of updates directly from Google. However, if you fancy getting first dibs on – probably – Intel SoFia powered devices – in October, then you better wait for our updates, recommendation and review.
