Xiaomi held a big launch event in China wherein it introduced the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 and 7 Pro. In addition to its latest smartphones and tablets, the company also unveiled HyperOS 2, the latest version of its Android-based software.
The latest OS software focuses on three main tech innovations – HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI. These are said to offer a “new, advanced experience” in core functions.
HyperOS 2
The latest version of HyperOS now comes with a new visual upgrade and customized content for more and richer widgets and smoother new animations. The lock screen was improved as well, this time it has a movie-like design based on AI calculation.
Moreover, it has a new scheduler that improves performance and upgrades resource management. The new OS also has an overhauled rendering pipeline and “continuous breakthroughs” in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G which aims to eliminate blind spots in connectivity.
You can also control your phone directly with your tablet with a windowed interface. This interaction allows you to cross-device video record and copy and paste between the devices thanks to a cross-device clipboard.
Meanwhile, on the AI front, HyperOS 2 introduces:
- AI Magic Painting – turns your sketches into images
- AI Voice Recognition – transcribe recordings in real-time as well as summarizes
- AI Translation
- AI Writing
The update, though, is only for devices in China. The company has already announced a timeline for the roll out. Among the supported devices for HyperOS include:

Xiaomi has yet to reveal its plan for HyperOS 2 in the global release though. We’ll just have to wait until then.
