Samsung plans to power the upcoming Galaxy Flip Z 7 models with Exynos 2500 SoC after overcoming its production setbacks.
Samsung initially struggled with low yield rates during the Exynos 2500’s 3nm production phase. This meant they couldn’t manufacture enough chips to meet demand, potentially delaying the launch of devices featuring it.
Samsung Galaxy Flip Z 7 Models with Exynos Chips
Despite this positive development, the Exynos 2500 might not be powerful enough to compete with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This performance gap is believed to be the reason Samsung opted for the Snapdragon in their flagship Galaxy S25 line.
Rumors suggest it will find a new home in the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7, marking the first time Samsung’s foldable phones utilize an Exynos processor. There’s also speculation of an Exynos 2500-powered Galaxy Z Flip FE variant.
Samsung’s Exynos chips compete with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, with the Exynos 2500 potentially lacking in performance. Samsung’s integration into the Galaxy Z Flip demonstrates its commitment to developing in-house processors, and future Exynos chips may face more aggressive competition in the mobile processor market.
