Smart communications, the leader in wireless celebrates another milestone by being able to bring smartphones into the hands of more Filipinos.
According to a study conducted by the International Data Corporation, the Philippines is now the fastest-growing smartphone market in Southeast Asia. Moreover, The Ericsson Mobility Report sees an increase in smartphone users in the country from 40 million today, to 90 million in 2021.
Accordingly, the smartphone penetration rate within the Smart network has increased by 25% in the first 9 months of 2016, with approximately half of Smart and Sun’s 65-million subscribers on a smartphone.
The Telco giant says all of this was made possible through partnerships with popular device makers such as O+ USA, Starmobile, MyPhone, and OPPO for SIM bundling offers on their devices, apart from existing device bundle offers from with other vendors such as Samsung, Lenovo, Alcatel, Flash, and DTC.
Under these partnerships, the latest handsets from MyPhone, OPPO, O+ USA, and Starmobile will come bundled with Smart Prepaid LTE SIM cards with up to a year’s worth of free mobile data allocation as well as monthly data rewards.
