Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia recently concluded the PlayStation Awards 2016, not only to recognize game titles which it big in Japan and other Asian Regions, but also to award game creators for their dedication and hard work.
The Gold Prize was given for title which have accumulated at least 500,000 shipments and downloads. The top 3 titles which had the best sales in the PlayStation Network were also given the PlayStation Network Award. 10 titles which garnered the highest votes from users were also given the Users’ Choice Award.
In addition, two new awards were added this year: The PlayStation VR Special Award for the top 5 titles which greatly contributed to the launch of the PlayStation VR in Asia and Japan regions, and a special award for the top 5 best contributing indie titles.

Starting December 16, 2016, campaigns for the winning title will be introduced on the PlayStation Store. A special page will also be set up on the HK and SEA Region to introduce the winners. Customers who download any of the winning titles between December 13,2016 and December 19, 2016 will also receive PlayStation Network Prepaid Value as rebate.
