In a special event earlier at the SM Mall of Asia, Vivo has finally lifted the curtain on the V5 plus, which is now officially here in the Philippines!
The V5 Plus retains much of the premium design language that Vivo smartphones are known for. The 5.5-inch Full HD display in front is covered by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5, while the lines have been completely removed from back, but are still present on the sides.
Powering the V5 Plus is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor which from personal experience, is an extremely capable and power-efficient mid-range chip. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (no MicroSD card slot), a 3,160mAh battery, as well as fast charging capability.
The V5 Plus is also equipped with a custom-made AK4376 dedicated Hi-Fi audio chip and like the V5, the fingerprint sensor is located at the front, housed by the Home button which can actually be physically pressed, as compared to the one on the V5, which is a fixed mechanism.
Where it differs (greatly) though, is in the imaging department. In addition to the 16MP rear camera, the V5 Plus sports a dual front camera setup, which includes a 20MP camera with a 5P lens system, and an 8MP camera for depth. This allows it to achieve the Bokeh effect with ease. In terms of software, the device runs on Marshmallow out of the box with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 3.0 on top
The Vivo V5 Plus is priced at PhP19,990 and is now available for pre-order until January 28, 2017.
