For PayMaya 3

A week ago, my wife and I went to a trip to Tokyo to celebrate my birthday. Many considered as mecca of technology, my wife and thought that it would be fitting for me to drop by the electric town, Akihabara; Ginza; Odaiba; and Shinjuku.

While we both decided to change our US dollars to Japanese Yen, I also tried using PayMaya. I reloaded my PayMaya with credits, and spent a little over 45,000 Yen in Tokyo. Most of the shops we went to accepted my PayMaya; and each time I used it, I always got updates via SMS and PayMaya app of the amount I spent. It was fast and convenient.

For PayMaya 2

I was able to purchase stuff at Artnia, Square Enix’s restaurant and shop located at Shinjuku.

For PayMaya 3

At Odaiba, I was able to withdraw money from my PayMaya account in JPY. As expected, I was charged with my minimal currency and transaction fees.

Recently, PayMaya announced that one lucky PayMaya user will win an all-expense-paid trip in Bali in March, and Osaka and Kyoto in April. Prize includes roundtrip airfare and accommodation for four, and PhP50,000 pocket money. That’s more than enough for 4 people to spend on food and some shopping.

There are, of course, ways to earn a raffle entry to get a chance to win each month. For your reference, here are many ways for you to earn an entry. Again,

In press material sent to us by PayMaya, its Managing Director and co-COO, Paolo Azzola, he said that PayMaya “has always strived to widen their travel opportunities by providing a means to pursue their passion even without having a credit card.” I, for one, could not agree more.

While it is a fact that the country has very low credit card penetration, PayMaya has always tried to make alternative means to pave the way to easier and faster cashless transaction. This promo, which they recently announced, is simply a way to bring this fintech solution closer to more people; and touching on travel and leisure are perfect ways to broaden its reach to the new generation.
