A week ago, my wife and I went to a trip to Tokyo to celebrate my birthday. Many considered as mecca of technology, my wife and thought that it would be fitting for me to drop by the electric town, Akihabara; Ginza; Odaiba; and Shinjuku.

At Odaiba, I was able to withdraw money from my PayMaya account in JPY. As expected, I was charged with my minimal currency and transaction fees.

In press material sent to us by PayMaya, its Managing Director and co-COO, Paolo Azzola, he said that PayMaya “has always strived to widen their travel opportunities by providing a means to pursue their passion even without having a credit card.” I, for one, could not agree more.
While it is a fact that the country has very low credit card penetration, PayMaya has always tried to make alternative means to pave the way to easier and faster cashless transaction. This promo, which they recently announced, is simply a way to bring this fintech solution closer to more people; and touching on travel and leisure are perfect ways to broaden its reach to the new generation.
