In its quest to provide the best mobile gaming experience to more Filipinos, Smart and TNT have partnered with Chinese-based game developer Moonton, to provide in-app perks and a better experience for fans of the hit game Mobile Legends.
Mobile Legends uses similar mechanics to its PC counterparts: Players create a team of five and face off against each other by choosing from a pool of heroes to play. The main objective to win the game is to destroy the enemy team’s towers and throne.
This fast-paced gameplay coupled with good graphics has made Mobile Legends a hit with 5 million players in over 200 countries, including the Philippines.
Under this partnership, gaming treats are set to be rolled out along with other exciting events to elevate the way Smart and TNT subscribers enjoy playing Mobile Legends on their devices.
“Smart and TNT’s partnership with Moonton is another step forward in our continuing support for the passion of Filipinos for online gaming and eSports, looking at it not just as form of entertainment, but also as a platform to discover, develop and showcase our gaming skills to the world. This partnership gives us a lot of opportunities to bring an unrivaled Mobile Legends experience to Filipino gamers, and harness the power of mobile technology to connect people who share the same passion.” – Eric R. Alberto, EVP and Chief Revenue Officer at PLDT and Smart.
Smart subscribers can enjoy Mobile Legends when they subscribe to Giga Surf 50, which gives them 1GB of data allocation with an additional 300MB for YouTube etc., along with unlimited texts to all networks. They will also enjoy data perks which can be used for the game on top of their existing subscriptions/plans.
TNT is also rolling out affordable Tropa Apps which lets you play the game with your friends for 3 days at only PhP10.
Take the experience to another level with Smart LTE, the fastest mobile connection available in the country, according to the latest study by UK-based research firm OpenSignal.
Both Smart and TNT also offer Google Direct Carrier billing, which allows players to make in-game purchases.
This new partnership is just one of the many ventures that Smart has taken on. In 2016, the company partnered with Germany-Based ESL, to gather the world’s top Dota 2 Players in ESL One Manila.
In 2015, Smart also backed the E-Sports and Gaming Summit and presented Philippine Clash, the biggest Clash of Clans tournament in the country. In the same year, the company also introduced Rampage 2015, the national tournament for League of Legends.
