Video games, eSports and streaming have been gaining traction in the Philippines. Philippine eSports teams have been getting huge attention. Little did people know that even in last year’s major eSports fighting tournament, a young Filipino and Tekken prodigy named Alexandre “AK” Laverez made news when he became Top 8 in the King of Iron Fist 2016. This is the one of the core reasons why game developer and publisher, Bandai Namco, and global eSports brand, TEAM SPOOKY, will host the largest Tekken 7 launch in the Philippines.
The event will be held on June 3, 2017 at Playbook Circuit Makati. The event, aptly titled “Rage Art” will also sponsor a Tekken tournament with a price pool of PhP25,000, thanks to XSplit, Player.me and Challonge.
Xsplit is a premiere streaming application by SplitmediaLabs. It allows users to easily stream their gameplays to multiple outputs. Meanwhile, Player.me is a social network built primarily for gamers and game content creators. Challonge, on the other hand, is a tournament bracket solution for game and tournament organizers.
Gadget Pilipinas along with other media partners – Rappler, GG Network, Sports Illustrated, Back2Gaming, Reimarufiles, Fanboyseo, and Unifiltekken – will provide full coverage of the event in order to bring the latest news to their respective readers. Be sure to check Gadget Pilipinas’ Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Twitch accounts for pre and post coverage.
Attendees to the event will also get a special pizza treat and ride-sharing special code from Fatboys Pizza and Grab respectively.
