The DTC Duo Rage aims to expand its market to people who loves to listen to music and even to radio. With its large speaker feature, users will surely make them work hard… and party harder!
The Form
The Duo Rage (GQ3) has the simplest qwerty-keyboard we have ever reviewed. Included are keyboard panels: red and black. With the 2-inch Color Display, you can easily navigate the applications installed at ease using the navigation button.
For music fanatics, 4 dedicated buttons are installed in front. You can find a 1.3 megapixel camera, flash and a speaker at the back side. In my opinion, DTC should not have put the word ‘MUSIC’ near the speaker because it just made the phone look ‘cheap’. At the right side, you will see a 3.5 mm headphone jack and the USB sync/charge panel.
Performance and Features
The GQ3 has not disappointed me for everyday usage. The speakers of the phone really amazed me because it’s really loud. That’s probably the reason why DTC called this ‘Rage’. The QWERTY keyboard makes the job done because you can easily and accurately type. It imbibes a “china phone” feeling when you are using it; however, its performance says the opposite. Its camera’s built-in flash makes shots clearer and crisper.
The Duo Rage has Dual Sim capability. It doesn’t support dual-standby mode; you will have to switch every time you need the other sim. This one also has FM Radio and even a Video player. When you wish to connect to the web, the GPRS is the only option for you.
Verdict
The Duo Rage (GQ3) aims to be the cheapest and simplest QWERTY phone in the market. However, with its limited features, the phone does not satisfy heavy users. I recommend this device as an entry phone for those who want a QWERTY keyboard and listen to their songs.
Oh, and before I forget, the Duo Rage is just Php 1,590 with free 2gb micro SD card.
Hey; we’re giving this phone away. Be sure to cast your entries below!
