After joining the 18:9 display race with the U11+, HTC has recently announced its newest mid-range device with Face Unlock and dual front cameras added its portfolio – introducing the U11 EYEs.
The HTC U11 EYEs sports the same liquid surface finish from the U11,is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance.. It has a 6-inch screen with FHD+ resolution, and is powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage expandable with a microSD card. It also packs a 3,930mAh battery.
At the rear of the phone is a 12MP UltraPixel camera with OIS that can record slow motion videos at 1080p/120fps, while the front hosts dual 5MP cameras that support Portrait mode and can be used for Face Unlock.
Unfortunately for audio-lovers, the device doesn’t have BoomSound speakers. It does however, support the USonic Earphones, and retains the Edge Sense feature, which lets you squeeze the sides to activate certain functions.
The HTC U11 EYEs will retail for $410, which I think is a bit too much for something that’s powered by a chip from 2016.
