Sony’s press conference at IFA 2018 was a well-anticipated one, as news of its new flagship has been in the rounds. And today, the company revealed the new Sony Xperia XZ3, along with other products.
The Xperia XZ3 has a new design that utilizes a 6-inch curved OLED HDR display with Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides, and a body with an IP65/IP68 rating. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 845, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage expandable via microSD card.
For imaging, the device houses a 19MP Motion Eye camera with PDAF, Laser AF, 960 fps slow-motion video capture at 1080p resolution, and real-time 4K HDR recording. It also features improvements to the BIONZ processing algorithm. At the front, a 13MP selfie camera with autofocus.
Other features include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, and Side Sense, which allows the user to swipe or tap on the curved edges of the OLED panel to perform actions such as taking a photo, and is also used to access the Side Sense Menu, which brings up a list of frequently used apps and more.
The Xperia XZ3 runs on Android Pie 9.0, and packs a 3,300mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging.
