Ever wondered if it’s possible to listen to your favorite music while under water? Well, Sony says why not? As they’ve recently announced that their new waterproof wireless headphones, the WF-SP900 is coming to the Philippines this October!
The WF-SP900 has an IPX5/8 rating that lets you take it to the pool or to the sea (yes, it’s also resistant to salt water) with a depth of up to 2 meters. Don’t worry, they’re washable, and with an IP6X rating, are dustproof as well.
You can connect the headphones to your device via Bluetooth, and if yours has NFC, you can use that for even faster and more convenient pairing. It uses an intuitive operating system that allows you to control playback and even launch Siri and the Google App by tapping or double-tapping on the designated buttons.
Alternatively, you can use Sony’s Music Centre App to view and play songs. Transferring songs is done via a USB Type-C connection using the Music Centre App on PC.
The device uses Sony’s Balanced Armature drivers to deliver a crisp and clear sound. Speaking of battery life, this one is rated for up to six hours (up to 21 hours with the charging case) when only used as a headphone, and up to 3 hours (up to 12 hours with charging case) if you’ll play music from its 4GB of internal storage.
Like the more premium WF-1000X, this one also has Ambient Sound Mode – which allows you to adjust the amount of background noise that you’ll be able to hear.
Local pricing is still to be announced, so stay tuned.
