Transcend today announced the release of its ESD USB Type-C portable SSDs, the ESD230C, ESD240C, and ESD250C.
All three SSDs are equipped with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 compatible interface with USB Attached SCSI Protocol which provides transfer speed of up to 520MB/s. They are compatible with desktops, laptops, on-the-go mobile devices, and gaming consoles.
The ESD230C and its sleek leather case
The ESD230C is the size of a credit card, offering a discreet and light portable SSD. It has hardware-based AES-256 encryption for better data protection. The ESD240C, on the other hand, has brushed aluminum housing and comes in at 7.5mm in height. Lastly, the ESD 250C comes in space-gray aluminum.

The exclusive software, Transcend Elite, helps users manage data. It is an advanced package compatible with macOS, Windows OS, and Android systems. It features backup and restore, data encryption, and cloud backup functions.
The ESD250C
The Transcend ESD 230C and ESD250C portable SSDs will both be availabe in 240GB, 480GB, and 960GB capacities, while the ESD240C will only be available at 240GB and 480GB. All models are covered by Transcend’s three-year limited warranty and include a USB Type-C cable as well as a USB Type-C to Type-A cable.
