Continuing our set of quick impressions for d-power products, here’s the S8+, and no we’re not referring to Samsung’s phone. This one’s a wireless charger that’s also fitted with other goodies.
The S8+ is part of the brand’s stylish ultrathin series of products. Inside the box, you get the usual – the product, wrapped in a translucent paper, and a charging cable.
D-power means business when they say thin, as this device is just slightly thicker than an iPhone XS Max.
Up front, you get the d-power branding, and a dedicated screen which shows how much juice is left, along with other indicators.
What I like about d-power products is that they just really don’t stop with the product being able to do one thing, but rather, they add a few bonuses. In this case, a dedicated lighting connector, a single USB, and even a dedicted Type-C port. That means you can charge up to 4 devices at once.
Yes, you’ve read that right. This thing can also be used as a power bank. Capacity is at 10,000mAh, which is actually quite good, considering how thin it is.
All you have to do is lay your wireless-charging capable device onto the front surface, and leave it to charge. Simple as that.
Verdict
Talk about value for money, the d-power S8+ is certainly a contender. It not only works as a wireless charger, but also as a power bank that can charge an additional three more devices via its dedicated ports. Now that’s some flexibility there. The capacity’s also decent at 10,000mAh, and the LED screen is a very nifty feature to give you a glance at useful information.
The d-power S8+ is priced at PhP1,599 and is available in Lazada, Cherry Mobile Stores, and in d-power’s kiosk in Robinson’s Place Manila.
