ASUS completes its myriad of announcements with a refreshed lineup of Zephyrus gaming laptops, along with the introduction of the new Strix G G531 and G731, designed as a more affordable alternative to the Scar and Hero edition. All are powered by 9th Generation Intel Core Processors.
Zephyrus S GX502 and Zephyrus M GU502
First off is the Zephyrus S, which is now powered by an RTX 2070, giving you that added visual fidelity in compatible titles. You get a standard layout RGB-backlit keyboard, and the Active Aerodynamic System that improves thermal performance.
You can also switch between G-Sync and Optimus modes to save battery life. The best thing? you now get a Pantone-validated display with 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. That means even more fluid and smoother visuals.
Next up is the Zephyrus M. This one packs a Magnesium Alloy Body for rigidity, and can be charged via its USB-C port. It also features Dual M.2 NVMe SSDs in Raid 0 configuration and an ESS Sabre DAC with Hi-Res Audio certification, adding up to an extra-immersive treat to your ears.
Strix Hero III and Scar III
The Hero and Scar edition now get their third iteration, and are better than ever with a new Keystone system (Designed with BMW Designworks Group) that stores your personal ROG Armoury Crate settings, saving you from the tedious task of having to re-configure everything from scratch every single time you use another compatible device.
The new design also utilizes a Gunmetal Grey or Midnight Black finish, and a new 3D Flow Zone and asymmetric lid cut-out aids in further increasing airflow for better cooling performance.
ROG Strix G (G531 and G731)
Set as the entry-level devices for the Strix series, the Strix G G531 and G731 feature extremely slim bezels on a 15.6″ and 17.3″ display, boosted with 144Hz refresh rate. The RGB and Aura Sync compatible bar on the chin now extends to the sides for that added visual zing. Both also feature RangeBoost technology which utilizes the laptops antennas along with a unique algorithm that eliminates dead spots, giving you the strongest Wi-Fi connection possible.
Zephyrus S (GX531 and GX701)
The new Zephyrus S GX531 comes with either a 15-inch SDR display with an astonishing 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, or a 17″ HDR screen with 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, which is also available for the GX701.
ROG Mothership GZ700
Meant as a complete desktop replacement, the ROG Mothership leads the lineup with an overclocked Core i9-9980HK CPU, and comes with either a 4K 60Hz 100% Adobe RGB or an FHD display with 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time.
The best news? the Mothership is coming to the Philippines. As to when, they didn’t say.
ASUS still hasn’t disclosed all the details about the new models, but we’re due to find out soon.
