Huawei’s first smartphone with a motorized front-facing camera is ready to make its official debut in the Philippines later today. Welcome, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019.
Y9 Prime 2019 is a glamorous and classy looking device, boasting a glossy back panel with two shades of the same color. It has a 6.59-inch TFT LCD display with FHD+ resolution, and is powered by a Kirin 710F octa-core processor backed by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable with a microSD card.
The devices houses a 16MP + 8MP + 2MP trio of AI-assisted rear shooters, one main, one for wide angle shots, and one for that gorgeous depth of field effect. Its 16MP motorized front camera can activate or retract shy of a second, and emits a mechanical sound. Its cameras are equipped with Night Mode, AI Scene Recognition, AI Beauty, 3D Portrait Lighting and more.
Y9 Prime 2019 runs on Android 9 Pie, with Huawei’s EMUI 9 on top. It packs a 4,000mAh which charges via a USB-C port.
There’s no word on pricing just yet, but we’ll definitely know today, so stay tuned.
