Subscription services are everywhere these days. You’ve got one for your music and one for your movies, but don’t you wish you had one for your console games as well? What if, for only PHP999 a month, you could play as many games as you want? Best thing about it is that you can have it delivered straight to your doorstep! Sounds too good to be true? Check out this service called Baroo Game Club.
Take for example Crash Team Racing, a game we gave a rave review of. You could take our word for it (because we give great reviews!) but sometimes the best review comes from actually playing the game. Cashing out anywhere from 2-3,000 per PlayStation / Xbox / Switch game is no joke, so Baroo is here to solve that problem.
It’s quite simple, really. Their basic plan at PHP999 per month lets you rent as much as you want, one game at a time. Play that game for an extended period or finish it off quickly to borrow another one, the choice is yours. A more expensive Legacy plan is also available, which gets you exclusive perks (including free delivery within Metro Manila) that makes the extra cash out worth it, if that’s your thing.
Delivery charges apply for certain areas in the metro for the basic plan but considering the traffic, PHP49 sounds like a good deal. Check out their delivery rates below:
Should you try it?
Let’s get this straight, the service sounds good but it’s not for everybody. If you’re like me who purchases games regularly for my growing collection, the idea of not having a physical copy to own is absurd. If you are a collector or someone who has an erratic gaming schedule, this may not be your cup of tea.
On the other hand, if you don’t quite care about a collection or can breeze through a game in a few days, then you may want to consider the service. Not only will you get to play all of the latest titles immediately upon release, you’ll also get to swap the title out and have it replaced with another one. Tired of God of War and want to try out Spider-Man next? Request for it and wait for the delivery. It’s actually pretty simple and painless.
Considering your gaming habits will be important because maximizing game time is they key to enjoying this service. If you can play and finish around 4-5 games in a month, PHP200 per game doesn’t sound so bad, does it? You can also get to try some of the games that you’re not quite sure of to see if the reviews are indeed correct.
If you fancy giving their service a try, you could open yourself up to a world of games you wish you could have tried but couldn’t buy, all for PHP999 a month.
