In what was something out of a nightmare, fans could not believe that a legendary sports icon had just passed away. To make matters worse, his 13 year old daughter was also a casualty.
Kobe Bryant, one of NBA’s greatest athletes, and Gianna Bryant, along with several other people died in a helicopter crash last Sunday in Calabasas California. It’s a story that’s truly unimaginable and the whole world, whether in sports or outside of, mourned the loss of one of the fiercest competitors ever, bringing to life what is now coined as “Mamba Mentality”.
Everyone affected by the loss of Bryant had their own way of paying tribute to one of the greatest and in a fitting gesture, NBA 2K20 also paid their respects by seeing a pop up screen of the late great as shared by Twitter User Shake4andbake:
A very respectful tribute to Kobe Bryant can be seen when loading up 2K pic.twitter.com/FLKK7McELW

The NBA 2K20 Twitter handle also showed respects to Bryant with a short but heartfelt message, who may have said much more but as with everybody, is still trying to cope with the past events.
Kobe Bryant recently graced the cover of NBA 2K17 Legend Edition and it’s quite hard to fully put into words what Bryant meant to the sport and even just to fans from around the world. He will definitely be missed and will always be an inspiration to us all to strive hard in everything that we do.
Rest in paradise, Kobe. Mamba forever.
RIP to a Legend. Thank you for your many contributions on and off the court. You are greatly missed pic.twitter.com/XesYS63Uhp
