Even now, there’s a common misconception that one has to spend a ton of cash to get a powerful, productivity-focused notebook.
Well, Huawei says it’s possible, with the entry of the Matebook D, a device that’s designed to handle the demands of young professionals trying to meet the demands of today’s fast-paced lifestyle.
The MateBook D15 is equipped with a 15.6-inch IPS FullView display at Full HD resolution, and surrounded by slim bezels. It boasts a screen to body ratio of 87% for that immersive viewing experience. The display is also TUV Rheinland certified for low blue-light emmision, for better eye protection.
Under the hood is a an AMD Ryzen 3500U with Vega 8 Graphics, along with up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM. For storage, you also get a 256GB SSD paired with a 1TB HDD.
The MateBook D 15 AMD Edition also packs a new version of the HUAWEI Shark Fin Fan, which optimizes airflow for improved thermal performance.
The device comes with a 65W USB-C Charger, and a USB-C to USB-C cable. The charger supports all Huawei Smartphons and tablets equipped with a USB-C port. It also boasts a feature called overheat protection, which automatically stops charging once temperature crosses a certain threshold.
For ports, you get a USB-C port, a USB-A 3.0 port, 2 USB-A 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, a 3.5mm 2-in-1 auxiliary and microhone port. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, and Bluetooth 5.0.
The MateBook D series also introduces a new set of screen collaboration features built on the foundations of HUAWEI Share,
These features allows the laptop to share a single display with a Huawei smartphone. Users can easily drag and drop files from one UI to another, and even view contacts on the phone directly from the laptop. Peripherals connected to the laptop can also be used to navigate the smartphone.
