The Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z is Cherry Mobile’s latest flagship device. We got the chance to check this device during their trade launch at One Esplanade last June 24. Here’s a rundown of our hands-on photos:

Cherry Mobile Cosmos S

The Cosmos Z is packed with a Mediatek MT6589T 1.5Ghz Quad Core (Turbo) Processor and 1GB RAM. Based on research, the processor possesses an SGX544 GPU, clocking at 375Mhz.

As for the battery, the Cosmos Z has a 2,000mAh battery (model CM-9e). It’s quite a letdown for a flagship phone, but I’m hopeful with how it will turn out in real life usage, given it has a more advanced turbo processor.

The flagship device also has a stunning Full HD IPS display with 1920×1080 resolution (440ppi – in case you want to know). The demo device during the event even features an custom Cherry Mobile live wallpaper, which kind resembles iPhone’s mosaic photo preview animation. Undeniably, cherry Mobile really did a good job in bring this OEM to the Philippines.

The Z also has an 18mp BSI rear facing camera with autofocus and 8mp front facing camera. I was able to check the camera software and I was surprised to know that it has a feature called Magic Shot, which allows you to remove unwanted photobombers on your photos. There are more features installed on the camera software, but unfortunately, I was not able to test all of them. Of course, we’ll definitely test this once we got a unit from our friends at Cherry Mobile.
