Official announcement from Square Enix places Final Fantasy 7 Remake physical copies in question due to COVID-19

Finally, an official announcement from none other than Square Enix themselves. No leaks, no non-sources, straight from the developers themselves. Physical copies for the upcoming remake face the possibility of a delay and while it was increasingly inevitable, an official statement puts all the talk to rest.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Facebook page had this to say regarding the uncertainty that the game is put in due to the unprecedented circumstances that the world has been facing.

Now that it is official, there’s really no way to go but Digital if you want to experience the game on day 1. Sad news but understandable, and we will have to comply for the greater good.

There’s a demo that’s currently available if you want to test the first mission of the game early and for brave soldiers out there, you could even see an extra scene! We loved the demo and can’t wait for the full game to come out, you can read our impressions below:
