With both Apple and Huawei having their own physical payments card, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Google did the same.

Now, news has surfaced that the company is working on its own physical card, though it’s yet to be named.

Unlike Apple Card, which is a credit card, rumor has it that Google’s version will be a debit card and that it’ll be co-branded with various bank partners like Citi. It’ll also allegedly be powered by a VISA chip, at least initially.

Like most e-wallets, the card itself can be used for purchases at stores and also supports contactless payments. It’ll also have a virtual version for Bluetooth mobile payments, and the user will also be given a virtual card number for online transactions.

It’s expected to come with a companion app, wherein users can monitor their transactions.
